Ordination stole

Photo From: NancyRose - Album: Spinning and Weaving

Description: Maryse Levenson made this stole for her daughter Myriam's ordination. It is made with Jagger Spun yarn. 50% wool-50% silk set at 24 EPI and woven at 24 EPI and on 6 shafts, 4 for the overshot and the additional 2 for the selvedges. The original overshot was made using the phrase: "reverendmyriamrenaud". The 8 squares each separated by a black stripe are all treadled differently and of different color. The multi color block on the left front represents the Unitarian-Universalist Covenant: acceptance of one another and the respect for the interdependence of all existence of which we are a part.
