Description: I can't believe I'm actually swatching for socks! This yarn is spindle-spun from a hand-carded blend of wool and silk. The silk is tussah, and the wool is a "down" breed (fuzzy, no sheen, but lofty and warm). It's blended about 50-50 -- but that varies quite a bit. The silk is there to give some softness and shine to the wool; and the wool makes it a cushiony yarn. The swatch is shown here before washing. It's more dense than I'd want in a sweater, but I think that will be nice for socks! Uploaded: 4/20/2007 by RuthMacGregor
