Description: This bamboo branch was weathered enough to reveal the fibers of its inner parts. As they are here, they are brittle and break easily. After soaking, they are flexible -- but still can't be broken down into the fine fibers that make up the beautiful white bamboo yarn which comes from Japan. ...It turns out that those beautiful bamboo yarns are made from reconstituted fibers -- much in the manner of rayon. How that dashed my hopes! Bamboo fibers RuthMacGregor Uploaded: 4/2/2003 by RuthMacGregor
