For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: In Resurfaced Video, Tim Cook Explains Why Apple Makes iPhones In China Click Here Why does Apple still manufacture in China? Old video of Tim Cook explains Click Here The Cook video was a 2017 topic of a Fortune Magazine interview. Its about 8 yrs old. Seems there's likely other Asian countries with similar manufacturing skills. So Apple isn't putting all eggs into one basket with China producing I-Phones. There's India as well as possibly Taiwan, and Japan, etc. Quote from a cited report: "Meanwhile what’s noteworthy is that Apple is also focusing on turning India into its new source of US-bound iPhones. Apple’s partners are building the world’s second-largest iPhone plant in that country, decreasing the company’s reliance on China, reported Bloomberg. The company assembled $22 billion worth of iPhones in India from April 2024 to March 2025, increasing its production by nearly 60 per cent over the previous year, the report added. " And such other sources seem on board with Trump's tariff actions,-- thus minimizing the sole source idea for China. China won't have the power of a monopoly. |
