As bad as those $17.33 fuel costs, the loss of life from e-bikes and scooters are even worse.
When will NYC do something about the ‘staggering’ number of e-bike fire deaths? Click Here Everything you need to know about e-bike battery fires Click Here Quotes: " last week a powerful fire obliterated a Brooklyn brownstone. Three people from three generations of the West family, ages 33 to 81, perished." Another: headlines over the last couple of years: “Mom and two kids killed in fire caused by e-bike battery”; “4 dead, 2 critically injured in NYC e-bike store fire”; “FDNY says e-bike fires on pace to double this year.” NY has suggested way to prevent more deaths is for the FDNY to call for a ban on residential e-battery storage and charging, just as it bans home storage of gasoline and other flammable or hazardous materials. And people should be very cautious to assure that batteries are high quality UL certified. Could be tough challenge, with so many and avoid the cheaper Chinese versions being sold. For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: According to a new study, when all the Electric Vehicle subsidies are added back in YES ITS AN EQUILAVENT COST OF $17.33 compared to a gallon of gasoline. Taxpayers are subsidizing rich electric-vehicle owners — to the tune of billions Click Here Absurd! The REAL cost of fueling an EV is 5X more expensive than a gallon of gas Click Here Quote: "Including the charging equipment, subsidies from governments and utilities and other frequently excluded expenses, the true cost of charging an EV is equivalent to $17.33-per-gallon gasoline — but the EV owner pays less than 7% of that. . . . This is socialism for the rich: a transfer of costs from higher net-worth individuals to middle- and lower-income taxpayers." And these subsidies added back do NOT include the most recent millions in the (so-called) Inflation Reduction Act Here's a 5 min video describing the comparison: |
