Did you ever consider that wearing a mask is not so much to protect the wearer, but more those in close proximity to the wearer?
Oh no, of course I NEVER considered that! Oh my! I must be a total idiot! Your sarcasm does not make for pleasant conversation, Jim. Masks don't protect those around the wearer either. Surely you have seen some independent, non-partisan studies that prove this? Care about your family, friends, neighbors, etc. Its a very minor inconvenience. And from the point of view of those forced to wear them, it is more than a "minor inconvenience," it is giving in to those in government who would lord control over us. I realize that, apparently, most liberals don't see this, but conservatives--and especially libertarians--do not approve of excessive government control over the people without cause. The government would have us assume the subjugated role of sheep, but some of us would resist that role. If you want to play the role of sheeple for no good reason other than to grant the government more control over you, please feel free to do so, but don't try to push your decision on those who have determined not to engage in such behavior. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Mark Sez: Masks don't work. Did you ever consider that wearing a mask is not so much to protect the wearer, but more those in close proximity to the wearer? One wears a mask to protect his fellow humans. The mask wearer has limited, but some protection, but those around him are protected if the wearer is infected. If everyone wears a mask during high infection times, then masks do work. Its not that hard of a concept to understand. It should have nothing to do with politics. Care about your family, friends, neighbors, etc. Its a very minor inconvenience. |
