It is, you're right, and we may not see fusion power developed in our lifetimes.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Seems the most research is still with fission, instead of going over to fusion.   And with a variety of possibilities to become commercially viable, within those six alternatives for advanced nuclear fission within Generation IV.
