Three days ago, a judge ruled that California's plans to extend the operating license for the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant will go forward.  Click Here    This appears a victory for maintaining reliable energy, as nuclear has far greater continuity, compared to wind & solar sources.

Gov Newsom says Diablo Canyon should keep running beyond 2025 to help ward off possible blackouts.  Are you surprised? A Long awaited admission !! 

The Maryland nuclear plant at Calvert Cliffs had years earlier already extended its operating license to 2034 for Unit 1 and 2036 for unit 2.   

Just weeks ago, on July 31, the nuclear industry saw the beginning of commercial operation of Georgia Power's Unit 3 at Vogtle Plant.  Unit 4 is scheduled to enter commercial operation in March 2024.  

Despite the fact that nuclear power is 100% carbon-free,  the greenies were fighting to close down the Diablo Nuclear Power Plant in 2024 & 2025.  But the legislators, state regulators and Gov Newsom have been clearing the way and supporting license renewal, with efforts begun in 2022.  

Nuclear is among the greenest power sources, and is unmatched for its operational reliability.
