Here's an interesting report showing how media manipulates their stories. Recall the headline: Phoenix hits 110 (F) for record breaking 19th day.
Some stats they're not revealing are what's the result if they picked other than 110 (F): < at 112 (F) temps in Phoenix, were only for 7 days. BUT the longest record was achieved in 2017 with other weather stations exceeding the Phoenix record with 9 days records instead 7 days. < at 105 (F) Phoenix had 26 days. BUT the longest record was achieved in 2005 with other weather stations exceeding the Phoenix record, up to 34 days records instead 26 days One report has called this "cherry picking". Seems they're pushing the hottest idea, regardless of many examples showing that Arizona has often had extremely hot summers. Sorry media, there's plenty of room for skepticism |
