I thought I'd catch some flak, however seeing V.D.H. essentially saying the same, lends me to believe many others are in agreement. 

G.I. Shower:  In boot camp, we had a guy who continually got nailed by our D.I. for lack of cleanliness.  Some of the guys in our company (me not included) dragged him into the showers facility and scrubbed him down with soap and a SCRUB BRUSH.  I can't remember if it made any difference, or if he was set back a week, or if he was 'sent packing.'

We started out with a compliment somewhere in the high eighties, and graduated somewhere in the high fifties-- you get all kinds!
