If we truly want to face things completely, we might admit that it is not just the Washington politicians, and not just the majority of large media news outlets, but it is also society at large and institutions like the NFL and others who cave in to the claim that we need more than one national anthem, among other bizarre practices.
It is unclear whether its possible to return to a sensible, clear-eyed society, one that does not live by false rumors and innuendo. It is also unclear whether even if we can get back to a responsible society, can we remain there and keep from backsliding into self-destructive and delusional thinking again? |
