yes and no, I think. It seems to me that GOP people want to simply win an office for themselves, and frankly they want to be good stewards of the economy and domestic security.

But DEMS not only want to win, but they want to wreck their opponents permanently.

And if they succeed in such wreckage, then in a certain sense that is murder, I believe, because they will be destroying the reputation and livelihood of their opponent, which is a form of social death, if you will.
