I saw that picture just an hour ago. I says a lot. I think Biden is picturing his son in every person in uniform. I commend him for that but like surgeons who shouldn't operate on their own, presidents have to put those pictures aside when making decisions. The most positive spin I can give this debacle is that he wanted desperately to spare the lives of servicemen now and in a future Afghanistan. Now he has to be second guessing himself for ignoring the advice of some of the military who were saying that committing more troops and delaying the final departure to a date uncertain was the safest strategy.
Personally, I would have elected to keep a residual force in that country until the cows come home if I could have some assurance that it helps the Afghans neutralize the bad guys in their midst. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: the worst may be yet to come YES right !! And good detailed analysis. Did you see today's reports that a Biden image from yesterday's press conference has gone viral? Unflattering. Not showing strength. As I mentioned yesterday, seems he was shaky and/or shaken. All this fiasco is prompting some Dems to lose their unity and loyalty to Biden's administration. Parallel with your NY Times readers, raising questions. Even some media. Amazing Here's that photo, which went viral: |
