YUP I ignored your question. I thought maybe you'd get my earlier attitude -- concentrated on Maryland's data. Also the differences between Md counties. STILL very low here.
Can I say it any more plainly. We're here in Worcester, and the universal masking of kids is a very bad idea. The other thing that Md's figures indicate is we're below our historic levels, so the govt's attempts to sell the idea that's it panic time are all wet. That seems the agenda of the Washington Post, in that article & likely elsewhere. That's why I'm raising objections against the WP article [with its squeezed small charts.] Seems the background of your question[s] are promoting the idea its panic time. But Maybe that's how you looked at it ? Or not? Comes off that way. No need to restate with bold lettering. Makes little difference. Not cutting any ice. My point is its not panic time. I'm not seeing needed relief, like sending medical ships to NY & LA. No need to reopen Javits center emergency facility. Not nearly in the panic mode. Not necessary for kids paying a price of masking. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: You TOTALLY ignored the point of my message [or maybe you just didn't want to acknowledge it]. The data I tabulated shows a higher rate of infection in those states with lower vaccination rate. Look at it again: 7-day rolling average of daily new reported cases per 100,000 residents vs percent vaccinated: Louisiana 122 cases per 100,000 37.7% Fully Vaccinated Florida 93 49.7% Mississippi 90 35.2% Arkansas 77 37.7% Alabama 70 35% Texas 48 44.6% (All above states have relatively low vaccination rates) New York 21 57.9% Maryland 13 59.6% [From an earlier message from me: So what condition do you think Maryland would be in if we had the same vaccination rate as LA, MS, and AL, for example? Do you think that vaccinating as many of our people as possible is important to overcoming this pandemic? (Do you even think we are in the midst of a pandemic? Some don't!)] |
