Tom, They want the ability to allow votes to be cast days after Election Day. Imagine the political ads if one Party is, say, 50 votes short of victory on election night! When a Pol is THAT close, and he has a few extra days to campaign, well, you can imagine the depths these people will go to get a few dozen more votes. Bob |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: missed one. A controversial drop box contents contained just enough votes to give LBJ his first Senatorial seat--- 87 vote victory. Years later, the captain in that area admitted that it was opened in private and over 200 additional votes were added for Lyndon. YUP Throw that log onto the [verbal] fire-storm -- all reasons to back away from processes which enhanced the opportunities for cheating.
