Ronald Reagan, an icon of conservative politics, was once a Democrat. That is, until, he said, "I didn't leave the Democratic Party; the party left me." Many patriotic, hardworking Democrats -- especially those with children and grandchildren -- might be feeling the same way now that their party has been hijacked by radicals who believe the greatest, most-free, most-successful country in the history of the world needs "fundamental change."

"Fairness" has become the excuse for ignoring the Constitution, attacking Christianity, demonizing success and trashing traditional American values. But is it "fair" that our children and grandchildren will be burdened with the debt this government is drowning the country in?

Is it "fair" that the next generation will be bridled by an overbearing, bankrupt government and the resulting loss of freedom and quality of life that you and I have grown accustomed to?

Is it fair that your taxes will pay for the top priority of the Martin O'Malley administration: providing in-state tuition for illegal aliens?

There is no money in the highway fund -- thus, an increase in the gasoline tax; there is no money in the Chesapeake Bay fund -- thus, an increase in the flush tax. But let's be "fair" and give illegal aliens a discounted education.

And is it fair that liberal politicians redefine the bedrock of traditional Judeo-Christian society -- the sacred institution of marriage?

If you are a proud Democrat, but your idea of "fairness" is not shared by your party leadership, try your local Worcester County Tea Party.
