BORN TO BE BAD
By Sherrilyn Kenyon
Contemporary romance stories (high sensual content)
September 2005
Pocket Books
ISBN: 1-4165-0750-7
This is a trilogy of short fiction concerning the mythical intelligence agency BAD (Bureau of American Defense). The bureau sends out super agents who are ruthless and either handsome or beautiful beyond imagination.
In One BAD Night, agent Samantha Winslow is assigned to assassinate a fellow agent who is believed to be a traitor. The problem is that agent Jason Banks is handsome and an incredible lover. Samantha has him shackled to a bed, naked. So now BAD believes it has two rogue agents on its hands.
BAD to the Bone concerns a non-agent, Marianne Webernec, who wins a sweepstakes that permits her to spend time on an island, pretending to be the heroine of her choice. The publisher shares the island with a resort catering exclusively to BAD agents on the mend from their missions. Agent Kyle Foster is bored with recovery. When Marianne chances on one of his explosive situations, he rescues her, then kidnaps her. So, can a school teacher from the midwest capture the heart of a super agent?
Captivated by You is the story of Agent Rhea Stevenson's mission to capture a terrorist. She is to be a dominatrix. Her training partner is fellow agent Ace Krux, a man who is "sexier than any man has a right to be". The training scenario becomes much more heated and loving than BAD meant it to be.
These are three silly stories if you're looking for good espionage. But BAD isn't meant to be real. It's just fun and sexy. The plots are meant to lead to lots of sex and the characters are quite ready for same. If you want real spy stuff read SMILEY'S PEOPLE.
